Zinc
Zinc is a bluish white mineral/ element that can be refined into a metal . It is called an "essential trace element" because very small amounts of zinc are necessary for human health. Since the human body does not store excess zinc, it must be consumed regularly as part of the diet. Zinc is used to produce brass, which is a zinc alloy that contains between 55 and 95% copper. China is the leading producer of Zinc followed by Peru, Australia, US, Mexico and India.

Zinc is primarily used as galvanizing material, with brass as alloys, die-casting, as zinc oxide for Pharmaceutical plastics and zinc sulphide for luminous paints. Zinc is also an essential nutrient for living things. A typical human body contains about 2.5 grams of zinc and consumes 15 milligrams per day. Foods with high zinc content include herring, beef, lamb, cheese and sunflower seeds.
